  • I see you've been editing the F.E.A.R. Online sections of enemies' pages. Does this mean you have the game? Could you please upload some pictures for the enemies and places from the game? It would be much appreciated. =)

    • I tried to download the game but unfortunately I don't have much oppotunity to play it, the servers are located in EU or US. I did played tutorial and Fire Storm and that's it for now. I will try, if I can find a server with acceptable ping, I will try to make some screenshots.

    • That'd be great. Take your time, there's no rush. =)

  • As I can see that you are having PC trouble, how about I make fixes and article edits on the F.E.A.R. 2 walkthroughs? I've played the game a couple dozen times (at least), so I would know what I was doing.

    • Sure, the basic walkthroughs are done but I know there are thing to be fixed, I am writing walkthrough for Reborn resently, so I will be appreciated if you can help fix the pages on Project Origin.

  • I was wondering if allowed to make an gallery for each replica troopers

      Loading editor
    • It's perfectly fine with me. You can also make galleries for the new enemies introduced in Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate, if you have those games as well.

        Loading editor
    • Soory to bother you again, but how many images per gallery?

        Loading editor
    • Up to you, but don't be too repetitive. If you can upload enemies in older games like Extration Point, that will be good because currently only Leea and Nexuscore will do this. I will upload pictures for F.E.A.R. 2 and 3 once I have time to play.

  • It appears you have F.E.A.R. 3 for PC and have been posting screenshots. Yes?

Could you possibly get a good picture of the Armacham Helicopter to put in the enemy infobox, as the one currently there is quite small. Also, could you get a good close-up pic of the Goliath missile launcher to put in the infobox? I've looked all over and can't find a better one than the concept art that is currently there. Thanks.

  • I played through F.E.A.R. 2 on the Hard difficulty a few days ago (mostly for the achievement), and I have to say, it was alot easier than I though it would be. The only thing I had to do different was use cover (which I hardly ever use) and that was basically it. The only thing that made me feel like seeing how far I could toss the disk into orbit was fighting Harold Keegan at the end. He spawns all around you as you look for that damn control panel, and if you don't have three medkits, well, that's basically the end. I used one medkit for each time I faced him during the three flipping the switches. I died more on my first playthrough than I did on Hard.

    • Nope, I think you are right, F.E.A.R. 2 is not difficult on Easy and Normal, but $hit starts to hit the fan while you are trying the Hard mode. Also, you don't suck at video game while you can beat F.E.A.R. 3 on Insane.

    • Playing through the Insane difficulty in F.E.A.R. 3 with Point Man was the best choice, 'cause you could use his Slow-Mo ability to dodge basically anything, including bullets. Also, (most annoying part with playing as Fettel) if your Power Armor was damaged enough to eject you out in Interval 06, as Point man you could still hide behind it and not worry "No! I only have a quarter bar of possession time left! I won't be able to use the EPA without a body! DAMN!" Personally, it always seemed to me that Fettel had a little less health than Point Man, even when all the way leveled up.

  • I don't believe that the wiki needs a category for Project Harbinger. If we add a category for that, we'd need to start adding categories for all the other projects, and pages would soon be overwhelmed with categories. As it is, we already have an Armacham projects category, into which the products of said experiments and the experiments themselves all fall. :)

  • Hi Sector, might I ask why you undid much of my work on the Interval 06 - Deterioration - Keegan article? I changed the numbers to words because it looks unprofessional to write with numbers in the main body of an article, and took away capitalization of weapons in places where the official name is not in use. I added the full names of characters and weapons when they are first introduced in the article, because that is the standard on this wiki.

I appreciate your work on this wiki, and hopefully we can reach an agreement of some sorts. :)

    • While I first saw the changes made by you, I was sitting in front of the PC and thinking for a while, well, some of the numbers I put there have purposes, I agree many words you change, but I want to make the style of this page look like the previous ten pages, and changes are on the way shortly.

When I started the walkthrough, my main goal is to write a reader-friendly walkthrough, standing at the player's point of view, and at the same time get them the infomation. I wrote the walkthroughs for other games before, I believe that if you write a boring walkthrough, nobody is going to read it, or they will look for walkthroughs made by others after the first mission. So I always try to make my walkthrough look "light", I sometimes add strong word to give them a feeling that "The writer has experienced that too, and he/she is pissed." Now, come to the "professionalism" part of the issue, I never asked to fill all these requirements until now, so sorry for the problems in these days. I will however, make changes to strike a balance between professionalism and the extent of freedom while writing walkthroughs. I see the point you made there, I agree and I can make changes in few days, actually I started to think changing my writing style after I reviewed the Manuel of Style on this wiki three days ago.

So, the capital letters for weapons will change, and the first appearance character, usable items and weapons will add links, full name is not necessary, as a click on the link will lead you to that page and you will get the full name. Also, I would like to keep the numbers for intels, and the second word of the intel is actually the category that the intel falls into, I listed both to help the reader to find it faster in game. The "(MxIx)" mark is also made for the reader, this shows the intel is in what mission and what order, I put the intel in order, so if one missed an intel in a mission, they can find it easier. I think putting some numbers in article is not a bad thing, but I do admit I used them too much.

Besides those thing I would like to keep, I will change the articles to meet the standard as much as possible. Of course all of this cannot be done in one day and by few edits, this is the change of the writing style that will influence the future walkthroughs, so it will take a while.

Just a sidenote, thank you for sending this message, normally, the admins will give me a lot of bad stuff if my edits doesn't meet their standards, or nothing at all, they are just waiting for enough reason to block me. When I meet some pretty rough admins, I often leave the wiki, sometimes I got banned not for vandalism, but "trash editing" as they said, which is quite unfair. I edited on over 20 wikis since 2011, and now I focus on 8 of them, I am pretty busy at this wiki recently because the walkthroughs and pages for F.E.A.R. 2. As a F.E.A.R. 2 veteran, it's my honor to do all these (no kidding). Maybe because I deliver the walkthrough in a hurry, there are lot to be desired. That's the reason for the "versions" in these pages, before the "Complete" version is done, I will go back frequently to fix the pages, I also appreciate the suggestions and advices that make my pages look better. I am not a unreasonable person, so I will look at any advice people give to me, even if I don't like it.

So that's it, pretty long for a reply, probably because there are lots of things going through my mind these days, hope you understand my purpose for adding marks and numbers, have a nice day. :)

    • I can see your point about the intels, and why it would be a good idea to add some extra info on the intel. I feel that it's not a good idea to wait until all F.E.A.R. 2 walkthroughs can be rewritten before changing things, especially since there's so much content on each page. It took over an hour to finish the one page of yours I did edit, so it's going to be a monumental task to get the others. Therefore, I think it's okay to fix up one page at a time. Let me know when you're okay with others editing on the walkthrough pages, since there are some grammatical issues that I can go in and clean up. :)

I'm not vindictive and I don't assume bad faith, so I don't ban anyone over obvious good faith edits. Admins who do that suck and shouldn't be running a wiki.

    • I will fix the article myself. I write them all anyways, so I know the layout, and the stuff in it, I can do this as a part of the checking up process that will help complete the "Complete" version. I will postpone the future walkthroughs until the previous pages, eleven pages to be precise, are fixed to meet the wiki standards as much as possible, I see the mistakes myself in some pages and it will take a few days to fix them. I don't need to rewrite the whole page, I just need to find the words that need to be fixed, and turn most number to words. If the grammatical issues still exists after the Delta version, I welcome and appreciate any help I can get. :)

  • To remove a article from the Stub category, simply remove {{stub}} from the page. This will remove the page from that category.

    • Thanks, you too! I like contributing, and I'd hate it if this wiki ended up being dead with no one contributing, because the F.E.A.R. series of games are great, and I don't think the F.E.A.R. wiki has the same amount of editors as, say, the Fallout wiki to help keep it alive.

    • Feel free to remove stub tags if you feel the page no longer needs it. I've been really busy with my writing lately, but I'll try to be around if you have any other questions. :)

  • Good to know that you're going to do the F.E.A.R. 2 walkthroughs. I would have done them, but I don't have that game. I know from experience (I wrote the all of the F.E.A.R. 3 and over half of the Perseus Mandate walkthroughs so far) that it's going to take a while to write all the Intervals. Good luck with it! =)

Oh, and might I say that you have on your profile that you don't like F.E.A.R. 2, but I know that its gotta be F.E.A.R. 3, as you said you don't like that game. Just a heads-up. ;)

    • Your edits were not entirely removed. The parts that were taken out were because they merely repeated information the article already had, or contained information so rooted in common sense that there wasn't any need to explain it. The left over info was moved to the pertinent section and edited to put it into wiki article format.

Usage of words such as "you", "me", "we", or anything of the like is not allowed.in articles unless it's in a walkthrough section that is clearly labeled as having been written in guide format, as stated in this wiki's Manual of Style. I would suggest you keep tactics to the main body of the article, so no one has to go look for tips on how to fight [insert enemy here] elsewhere in the article.
